so when are we going to get the truth about Randy Howard and why he resigned and why his wife wants to divorce him. Do we have to wait years before we get told the truth. I know many people already know but wont talk about it. And I hear that he still gets his 150k plus salary until they find a replacement. I wish our pastors had a least a weeks vacation pay when they retired or were removed by Randy or other political church hacks.

DeleteAmazing posts , I was an assistant Pastor to Chris Stathis Europe and middle east missionary representative and I lost my marriage my children because of cogop members, ruthless religious dominant , I can say more so much in my 30 years of this cult.even put me UN a middle of a congregation to accuse me of things I did not do, some of the congregants also supported me that their behaviour are like Pharisees. God will bring them to justice. I wish I can chat with someone with similar experience. It's the worst nightmare of my life, I now attend Ruach ministries .

I have been doing some research on the influence of those who rise in leadership while having a secret life of homosexuality, bisexuality and transvestites/transgender. The cast of the past leader (for the COGOP) in Europe has been little discussed. Perhaps you could share some details on how this leader was able to carry on this lifestyle and the "network" that enabled him. Any information would be helpful. I am sorry for the wrongs you suffered in the name of Christ and the Church.

The post that mentions Chris Stathis in Europe is correct. Stathis was a homoxexual who became a transvestite who became a transgender (he became a woman - Christine Stathis? living in the Holland? area). He left many victums, young men he abused, in the US and Europe, but the COGOP leadership, and his "very" close friends in the US, covered-up his crimes. There has been no attention or help provide for the victims, and since it is not discussed, the victims don't know there are others who suffered the same assaults. The COGOP was plagued by homosexual/bisexual men who were promoted to lead young people, on the state level (like Dwight Lawrence in CA) and on the general level like Darrel Tabort and other general leaders). This have been covered up due to a network of friends and "lovers" within the COGOP who are very close to power. Pray for the victims, God will deal with predators.
DeleteI had been a long time member of COGOP. I agree with the things that have been said here. My hurts were so deep. I questioned things about doctrine and my salvation was questioned, this began just before I left. A pastor and his wife literally held me in their home without my permission with the plan of my mom, for 3 days because I wanted to marry someone who was not a member of the church. I was 42yrs old never married before. After I was released from their home, I left the church. I married my husband who was a Godly man filled with the Spirit and was a mighty soul winner for God. He is in heaven now. I was unable to have anything legally done to them, however God is the final judge. Stay away from that church.
ReplyDeleteI know this sister and she and her family bled cogop..then, something happened..what i cant say..but, i spoe to the pastor concerning this and i do not beieve he kept her prisoner..he is a wimp..lol..and she streatches the truth..anyhow..it is over..she is living with a friend and for some reason hates me..sad...anyhow..pray for her..God knows her name..
DeleteIn reply to above post. I did not lie about anything. I do not hate said person. Why this person would post above comment I do not know. They did not go through it. I did. What they did not post is they left the church themselves. They were once a pastor in the church.
DeletePeople should realise that you will always find inconsistencies where there are people. Unfortunately even the church will have some mistakes because it has people. I am very sorry about the hurt and humiliation that you have experienced. I remain a member of COGOP.

I agree I love what the Church of God of Prophecy taught me growing up. For my parents and how they were good decent people. My Father was saved in his later years and my Mother was saved when she was 16 years old. Be blessed.

ReplyDeleteThey are a cult. I was raised in COGOP. The things I experienced and have seen is just incredibly wrong. Predators of children,pastors sleepung with members that weren't their spouse, same sex activity, extra. Chastising people if they were divorced or separated. Even if the divorce was due to an abusive marriage. Needless to say I'm very happy longer attending. I have found a church that truly loves the Lord and is waiting for his return

DeleteI was born and raised in COGOP, but when the church split in the 90's, my family and myself left the church. We were mistreated cause the pastor(s) always catered to the Mexicans. Also one pastor's daughter was having premarital sex and no one said a word. Im glad that I left cause I was deeply hurt. I agree with the comment that Jesus saves not a church.
ReplyDeleteI was raised in the Church. I am now 65 years old. I was raised not chewing gum, not wearing pants, etc. Back when I grew up in the Church you just accepted what you were told and did not talk back. Today, the young ones are different as they should be. I still attend the Church. I feel that the Church taught me what they felt was the right things to do and that has not hurt me. The troubles that I had were due to asking God for the answer and He gave it to me and I went the opposite. That's my fault not God or the Church. I hold no bitterness against the Church. I know right from wrong and I am digging deep within myself asking Jesus to show me the way; and guide me with his eye.. My goal, to have a true personal relationship with Jesus. I listen to the Leaders. I keep what is truly the word of God and disregard the rest. Many who grow up with me no longer attend the Church. They ran as fast as they could once they were grown. That has to tell us that something was not right. We have to answer to our Maker for ourselves. I have learned to lean on my God for myself. I wish all of you well that have been hurt by the Church of God of Prophecy but in the end we have to know Jesus for ourselves. Realize today we are responsible for our own souls. Be blessed.

ReplyDeleteCogop is the most corrupt organization I personally know. They have ruined my life and my Dad's as well. When my father was a teenager a youth minister in cogop raped him on multiple occasions and they just swept it under the rug and moved the pedophile to a different church. Later my father was sued for bull shit allogations that I don't want to get into but I can say that the pastor that testified against my father lied to everyone in court and even though I won't go into details I can just say that the lying scumbag said he never saw or took part of a certain event, which was a complete lie as I was even there and saw him participate in said event. As a result my father has had his pastor's license revoked and hasn't been the same since. My family was torn apart as my dad become so distraught over the whole thing as cogop brought him to court over "damages" when they are the ones who let one of their own mollest him and get away with it.

I have contacted Google about the blogger's use of their blog as a means to attack and they suggested legally actions. While I may pursue legal options, I want to know the blogger's name and where he lives. If you can assist me in this effort, post the info as a reply. There's attach a price to behavior.

ReplyDeleteWhy are you defending the Cogop. Are you saying that these people arw lying. Some have even put their names. You should be praying for them and asking forgiveness. Jesus is coming and your still in denial.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most damaging issues with the COGOP is how homosexuals and bisexuals were able to become ministers and rise to high positions. Many of these were in the youth work, even becoming general youth directors in Cleveland, TN, such as Darrel Tabert and a couple of other. Some, like Dwight Lawrence, who was youth director in CA was caught, but not before he victimized many young men across the country. These predators were also evengalists and pasters. One of them reached the top in Greece, Chris Status, with victums in several countries, including the US. They, the homosexuals/bisexuals, used the ministry to get young teenage boys, but they also had/have a friends who are also like them, who they are on the "down-low" with. Some were married with children and their wives knew what was going on. There needs to be a "me too" which names these preditors in the COGOP.

I am still a member of Church of God of Prophecy raised on the front bench my and I😁 Anyway the Good Book will never lead you wrong. Read it digest it slowly and daily. I question all the splits beginning in the early years of the Church of God. I believe the last split was 2004 when Bishop Wade Phillips left and started Zion Assembly. I choose to follow Jesus. I am with my Pastor as long as he is in the Good Book. I am running after Jesus not anybody or any church. Be blessed and Happy 4th❗
